Egypt Air buys aircraft from Bombardier of Canada for $ 1.1 billion

Egypt Air is expected to announce Tuesday the purchase of aircraft from Bombardier of Canada, informed sources said.

Sources told Bloomberg news agency that Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier had reached an advanced stage of talks with EgyptAir on a $ 1.1 billion deal to purchase the C-300.

The deal is likely to be announced today at the Dubai Air Show on the inclusion of the deal as a confirmed purchase order for 12 aircraft.

The sources said that Egypt Air is considering buying another 12 aircraft of the same model, and that it is expected to reveal Egypt Air for the purchase of at least six Boeing 787 aircraft known as the dream plane.

The agency said the new deals came after the company recovered from the effects of the decline in the number of tourists to Egypt and the crash of the Russian plane over Sinai in 2015.
