This week, the Ministry of Trade and Industry is discussing issuing new standards for the cement sector to encourage it to face losses, in light of the instructions of Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly. Government sources said to "Al-Borsa" newspaper that agreement will be made during the current week to set new standards to face the large losses of cement companies that were exposed to them in the past period. The sources added that the criteria include a set of considerations, including reducing the volume of actual production in light of the current capacities in the market and the age of factories. The sources stated that if an agreement is reached on these standards between the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the owners of companies during the current week, they will be sent to the Council of Ministers for approval.
